Case Study
Compliance and technology infrastructure for two real estate fund raises
How KTG delivered the governance documents, security policies, and audit remediation that anchored investor due diligence across two real estate fund raises — under a low-touch advisory engagement.
The Situation
A real estate investment firm preparing to close two new fund raises faced increasing investor diligence demands — formal disaster recovery, data loss prevention, audit-ready governance, and incident response capabilities — without the in-house compliance or IT infrastructure to satisfy them. Existing audit findings, privileged-user gaps, and a fragmented document landscape across four-plus repository systems were compounding the timeline pressure for capital close.
KTG took on the full compliance and infrastructure stack as Fractional CTO under a low-touch advisory engagement. Delivered the four core governance documents: a DLP Policy with four-tier data classification on Microsoft 365 / Purview, a Disaster Recovery Plan with RTO/RPO tables and break-glass procedures, a Tabletop Exercise Playbook, and an updated IT Framework with expanded BCDR. Coordinated audit remediation across privileged-user controls, BCM policy, and DR readiness. Established the operational backbone in parallel: Okta SSO rollout, Intune endpoint auto-lock, KnowBe4 security awareness training, and SharePoint document standardization with AI-assisted classification on the roadmap.
Outcomes Delivered
Compliance-grade work packaged efficiently for an emerging-fund manager — under 5% of KTG capacity, with full investor diligence support.
